ANNOUNCING A NEW INITIATIVE:

NRITYAGRAM's DANCE INFORMANCE

An Informative Informal Performance. 

This is meant for anyone who may not be able to book a lec-dem or performance at Nrityagram, since that requires payment for a minimum of tenpeople. And for people who have not or may not get a chance to watch a Nrityagram performance in a theatre. 

Come by yourself or in a small group with family and friends, and watch an Odissi Informance, in an intimate studio setting at Nrityagram.

To be held on select Saturdays from 11AM to 12PM (including a Q&A). 

Dates to be announced in Advance on our Facebook Page.

Rama Katha - Bharatanatyam - October 2014

The Story of Rama, a Bharatanatyam production by Narthaka Nipuna Sathyanarayana Raju, with live music accompaniment. I am in the core committee for this event as a volunteer. It is a charity event and all artists are from Karnataka. In this mesmerizing production, through Rama Katha, Narthaka Nipuna Sri Sathyanarayana Raju, an acclaimed Bharatanatyam dancer from Bengaluru, India, takes us on a journey into the life and relationships of Rama. The event is scheduled on Friday, October 24, 2014, 7.30PM at newly rennovated PGP Hall, Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple, 397, Serangoon Road, Singapore-218123.

The proceeds of Rama Katha will be directed to SOCARE IND, a unique NGO in Bangalore, India that focuses on rehabilitating the Children of children of lifetime convicts. The funds raised will be used to build a SOCARE Orphanage home in Gulbarga, India.
